LEADERS IN DESIGN & BUILD

Do you want your home to stand out from the crowd when it’s time to sell? Here are 6 great tips that will not only make your home more desirable but add value as well

Hallway
The hallway is the first-place potential buyers will see as they step through the door. That’s why it’s
important to make it attractive and welcoming. If it’s small, it’s a pale color and add mirrors.
Mirrors create a feeling of light and space. If you have room under the stairs, then consider adding a
toilet. This will give your home an advantage. It’s useful if you have a family and it means
that guests do not have to invade your privacy by going upstairs.

Kitchen
Most kitchens are the heart of any home. If you have a small room that is not used much next to the
kitchen, knock it through. Create a large kitchen that can be used and be together. If you do not have the budget for a completely new kitchen, update it by replacing the worktops and cupboard fronts. These two things can modernize your kitchen at the fraction of the cost of a new one.

Bathroom
Fitting new taps or installing a heated towel rail will improve your bathroom immediately. Adding a luxurious bath mat, some fluffy towels and a new shower curtain will also make it even more attractive. If you have money to spend thinking about installing a power shower or a whirlpool bath.

Bedrooms
You do not have to worry too much about the bedrooms when you want to add value. A new coat of paint and no clutter will impress potential buyers. If you want to spend money. Think about creating an en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom if you want to knock through from a small box room.

Flooring
Carpets that have seen better days should be replaced. Lay new carpet, or better still a hardwood or laminate floor. Solid floors are much easier to keep clean and they help allergy sufferers by keeping dust mites at bay. If you want to add warmth, buy some colorful rugs for each room.

The Front Garden
Do you live in a road where it’s difficult to park? in a road where it’s difficult to park? You will add value to your home by creating a parking space outside your house. You may need planning permission, but if you are able to pave over your front garden it is well worth the expense. It will add value and make your home more desirable.

The Front Door
Give the front door and the rest of the outside a new coat of paint if it needs it. A new doorknob and letterbox will also help make the door look new again. If it’s a better day, then it’s a good idea to replace it.

Do not forget to keep your garden tidy and your windows sparkling. A house that looks well maintained  will attract more attention than one that is unkempt and neglected.
